Apparently Google has its knickers all in a twist over those cunts in the Eu and some shite about cookies. Frankly if they are biscuits then I will eat them, if you are concerned about this then fuck off somewhere else and read something else.

Hear the Tiger Roar

Alex and I got up at stupid o clock and drove to Bovington in Dorset. We went to hear the tiger roar, Tiger Tank Mark 1 Number 13 the first captured in WW2 was restored enough for a public display and I was asked to support the Hols for Heroes stand in the entrance hall.
We arrived as early as possible, the 157 mile drive flew by and we were the first in the car park, we helped set up and then wandered around the halls before the public arrived, what a great opportunity;
 Outside we saw some tanks moving around
 Both old and new ones
 Some quite rare ones
 Of course the halls are packed with examples
 Alex has a go on the PIAT simulator
 King Tiger, my what a feck off big gun!

 A Vickers?
 A WW1 Whippet
 A Ferret Mk5 with Swingfire

Another week screams by

There it went, along with my youth, health and wealth. I have been busy, a safety training day at work, a lecture/film on damascus barrel making at the HBSA and getting ready tonight for the shoot annual dinner. I am getting all tweedy in preparation. No beer or vino for me though as I am up early, another insane morning meeting tomorrow, this time in Shoreditch but afterwards I should be nipping back via Holts to catch up on the sale room and view the sealed bid stuff!
Clive sent me this, no good for me as I am neither Ginger nor coordinated;

See you tomorrow at the auctions.

A quick news update

Despite enjoying the lack of winter prep on our motorway network I have made the most of a day at home, well as much of a day as I could have after spending 10 hours to drive 70 miles.
The good news so far is; The Falkland Islanders cock a snook at KFC in BA
Well it works for me, us old colonialists must stick together!
Add to that the latest in Papal nonsence;
Back to work tomorrow though, more meetings in London!

Just a parting shot left, can anyone tell me why we pay our troops so little that they need housing benefit or is this another smoke and mirrors claim?

Processed meat is bad for you

Well according to the yoghurt knitters at the BBC, what the guardian reading wankers dont tell your is that its the quality of your food is what marks you down for an early grave! Yes if you buy top quality sausages and bacon and are careful with the amount of salt in your diet then you have every chance of living as long as those publicly funded wankers in White City but that doesnt make headlines does it?
Also the BBC are spouting national plans for culling 50% of the UK deer population based upon figures taken around Thetford forest.
Now if like me you like deer (and I really do) you will also know that the Thetford Forest is one of the biggest deer herds in the country.
So basing a national cull plan upon a selective figure taken from the known highest concentration of deer in England is certainly poor policy based upon shit science.
Typically Herrding deer like Fallow, Reds and Sika cause the big damage (apart from Roe fraying) yet tend to move between feeding and laying up grounds leaving the resident family grouping deer like Roe to cop the blame.

Sounds a bit like politics in this country doesnt it?
Ah well back to making lunch for tomorrows trip to work!

A question of spit

Ok sport if you must, so its reached 1000 episodes, i suppose the BBC feels the need to financially support ageing sports persons at my expense, I just wish they werent so pally and sycophantic. A bit more venom may even make the so called entertainment show a little more watchable.
So I spent another damned cold morning surveying yesterday more than made up by spending the afternoon on the farm with Cristoff the Keeper. He was very succesful in zeroing his .243 alas I couldnt get the Savage .17HMR to play ball.

We did  take out the savagely sportered 1891 Argentinian Mauser and some 150 grain Norma factory soft point. Well worth an hour or two in the sussex sunshine;
All in all so much better than work.

Beastly Eastleigh, who'd have thought it

Who really would have thought that teh Limp Dems would hold their seat but most of all that UKIP would push the Tories into 3rd and Labour into 4th place?
Its all good in my books, the Limp Dems winning/retaining a seat using the hated by them first past the post process and the Tories and Labour get shown the door by UKIP!
Now why should this be of interest I hear you ask?
Well its all to do with the Public accounts Committee in Westminster making a fuss over the MoD having lots of stuff in stores.
If I may quote Onetap from the Army Rumour Service;
"I am reminded that of a standard scenario in which the (typically clueless, young and thrusting) managers in production line factories would get regularly aereated at the sight of the maintenance technicians sitting around doing nothing and would demand that they should be gainfully employed doing something/anything. The textbook answer was that you want them sitting around doing nothing; if they're doing nothing, it indicates that there are no current breakdowns and production is running smoothly. If you get them doing something else, then they're not immediately available to respond to a breakdown when it does occur and entire workforce is standing around doing nothing.

It seems the Public Accounts Committee is having trouble grasping the concept of having stores unused and merely being stored in case they may be needed for a war or somethin, whilst selling off the stored stores would raise about 10 p in the £1 on the purchase costs. I'm seriously concerned about the standards in the Public Accounts Committee."

So there you have it, even if it cost the downfall of an allegedly intellectual politician to do maybe the bringing in of another new face will improve matters?

To be honest it wont, it never does, I suppose we should just watch this space to read about the downfall for corruption of a newly elected MP!

Maybe, just maybe Call Me Dave will let us have our plebiscite on Europe this year?
