Apparently Google has its knickers all in a twist over those cunts in the Eu and some shite about cookies. Frankly if they are biscuits then I will eat them, if you are concerned about this then fuck off somewhere else and read something else.

Rifle for Mongo

A fellow Arrser had this sent to me from another RFD until his variation arrives, tempted? Perhaps yes as I used to own an example not quite as nice as this;

No repairs to stock evident and the metal work is in reasonable condition;

Sadly the stock cartouches or unit stamps are really rather faded, whether this is from wear or from sanding and refinishing I cant tell as yet. the bore looks pretty good and its been cleaned thoroughly by the other dealer C&G Firearms Ltd

A prompt delivery exactly when stated, very impressed as should Tom be when he gets his mitts on it! My Great Grandfather went to war in 1915 with one of these, strange to think that this could even have been the rifle!;

Shock news in

Grieving scousers were to blame for their own drunken downfall. Uncomfortable reading no doubt for the relatives of those who died. British Football and in Particular the Liverpool fans had a justly earned reputation for causing problems and therefore were rightly castigated at the time.
Please note that the report doesnt say that the fans killed were to blame, as a rule they were
ticket holders already in the stadium there to enjoy what should have been a game to remember for all the right reasons.
They were killed by drunken fans and innefective policing but also by the fencing and other measures in place because of such events in the past!
Former prime minister Margaret Thatcher was told that a senior Merseyside Police officer blamed "drunken Liverpool fans" for the 1989 Hillsborough football stadium disaster, according to leaked government papers.
The documents show that four days after the tragedy, a member of Mrs Thatcher's No 10 policy unit met senior Merseyside officers who told her large numbers of Liverpool fans turning up without tickets had been a "key factor" in what happened.
Ninety-six fans died following a crush on the overcrowded terraces at the stadium in Sheffield where Liverpool were due to play an FA Cup semi-final match in April 1989.
There was deep anger in the city after South Yorkshire Police, who were responsible for policing the game, blamed Liverpool fans who turned up drunk, late, and without tickets, for what happened.
However, the papers, obtained by BBC Radio 4's The World At One, suggest that view was shared by their colleagues on Merseyside itself.
They include a note addressed to Mrs Thatcher dated April 20 1989 headed "Merseyside Police views on Hillsborough" and marked "Confidential".
It contains an account of what was said to be a long-planned meeting between the No 10 adviser and the then Merseyside chief constable Sir Kenneth Oxford and other senior officers from the force.
According to the note, Sir Kenneth said: "A key factor in causing the disaster was the fact that large numbers of Liverpool fans had turned up without tickets. This was getting lost sight of in attempts to blame the police, the football authorities, etc."
Another officer - who was not named - was said to have directly blamed the supporters. "One officer, born and bred in Liverpool, said that he was deeply ashamed to say that it was drunken Liverpool fans who had caused this disaster, just as they had caused the deaths at Heysel," the note said. Thirty-nine people had died at the Heysel stadium in Belgium when rioting Liverpool supporters charged Juventus fans before the 1985 European Cup final.
Sir Kenneth, who died in 1998, was also said to have expressed concern at the way Liverpool's ground at Anfield had been turned into a "shrine" by grieving fans. "He deplored the press's morbid concentration on pictures of bodies. He was also uneasy about the way in which Anfield was being turned into a shrine," the note said.

Testing the 6.5 Grendel

So ammo delivered, scope mounted and range sorted;

Weather turned out nice, Paul had to break in the barrel so it was shoot 1, clean, shoot 3 clean etc but it soon passed and we got on with the zeroing;

Testing was done using the chrono (an F1) to see what the Hornady 123 grain ammo would produce in a shorter barrel;

The MV was compared against moderater fitted and surprisingly went up by an average of 30 feet per second;

Testing continues and the chrono screen is easily readable from 5 metres away;

Lots more testing, in all 10 rounds fired through the chrono each with and without the mod fitted;

It was a bit windy which didnt seem to affect the round one bit;

Some initial stiffness with closing the bolt seems to be down to the new chamber and factory ammo, fired cases closed well enough so it seems that neck sizing may be the way ahead;

Some results were very interesting and the mod was quite cool despite some reasonably rapid fire, it did however cause the shots to pattern about 3 inches lower at 100 yards. Perhaps thats a result of the increased velocity?

Finally I get a go;

All in all a thoroughly enjoyed day, Paul likes his toy, I am impressed with the quality of workmanship from Riflecraft, this is only the beginning for this rifle and many more to come!

Time to let Bambi meet Grendel!
