Apparently Google has its knickers all in a twist over those cunts in the Eu and some shite about cookies. Frankly if they are biscuits then I will eat them, if you are concerned about this then fuck off somewhere else and read something else.

as the dust settles on the boxing day shoot

We can reflect on what has been a difficult season for travelling to shoots so far. The weather, car problems, family dramas and finances all conspired against our season. I feel that yesterday may have been the last one we travel to.
The pups came along, it certainly does them no harm to get some travelling under their belts along with meeting people;
Being boxing day the whole family came along, I even persuaded teenage sons to be out of bed;
Ben was picking up with his Mum not that much was shot and Alex was with me;

Still soon be New Years Day on our little shoot and its WAGS day!

Network rail a bunch of crooks?

Well who would have thought
Whats really surprising is the most innefectual union of them all the TSSA has grown some and decided to act. This would be the same bunch of useless clowns whose answer when asked for help to deal with bullying managers was; "Well you dont have a years service so we cant represent you!"
No wonder the unions suffer from membership numbers falling if thats how they treat members!
Never be a member again or work for that shower of cnuts again!

Christmas present ideas?

Thanks to the Kiwi!

Say what you see

He gets my feckin vote!

The shoot day that wasnt

Alex, 5 dogs and I made it as far as Angmering this morning when it became a white out, below is a little footage Alex took when we were closer to home, I hope Boxing day is fairer, dont get me wrong I like the snow but I need the roads to be half decent and West Sussex sucked compared to East for gritting;

Home to feed the chickens, walk the dogs and see the Pups, Nutmeg is out of shot scumming up to me;

So as I sit here eating my porrige, planning to use today fruitfully now, boil out a skull that I found in the freezer and make the Christmas flapjacks, chocolate chip and peanut!

Another trip to metropolis

So Lambeths finest have gone all Nuclear No Thanks on us?

The table display was slightly enticing;

Some interesting publications on display;

Some interesting material provided by the lecturer;

Who gave a very interesting lecture of production engineering for war and how to ramp up production;
There were of course the usual distractions lying around, 9mm Glisenti;

And a very nice instructional item from the first world war;

It seems that all you need when faced with this;

The last shoot day, before christmas

I forgot the syndicates christmas cards!

Breakfast went well, more bacon next time;

Possibly less sausages;

The bag at tea break, 4 Pheasants and 3 Woodcock

The bag was added to at close of play by 3 more Pheasants and a fox foolish enough to try and run the gun line;

Charlie with a headache;

The tally;

feelings of inadequacy setting in?

Thanks to the Kiwi for pointing this out;
There are in Alberta stout gentlemen who obviously put in more effort than I ever do! I'm off to feed the pheasants this morning, with a gun just in case!

A day in Hampshire

So the view along the cover strip, not what we are used to seeing but very nice none the less;

The walking gun and beaters make their way into the field;

After the cover strip we beat the river bank onto the sedge beds, the village church looks very atmospheric in the mist and snow;

A beat along the river bank towards the sedge beds;

The beat through the second half of the sedge;

Not a bad haul for the game cart;

The dogs seem pleased enough with their handiwork;
Till 2 weeks time then for here.

I have decided that in future anonymous posts will be deleted, much of what is commented on has no bearing to the circumstances under which we labour. If you dont like what you see then post using a name I can reply to!
The beating was difficult in the sedge and flags if used are merely for tapping against sticks, this time the sedge (which is almost untappable at the best of times was rougher than usual thanks to the snow) Any sticks were used to keep the handful of dedicated beaters upright and barring calling forrard for birds in that mist which was a good thhing to do, the only guns addressed were the pair backgunning who deserve a decent chance.
The birds were all held either by the claws or necks until put into a game carrier by the neck. All birds shot are consumed by the shoot.
If you dont like it then go ahead and buy your 500 bird day and we will enjoy our shoot!

Snow just about everywhere

Its snowed pretty much non stop since saturday morning, I measured the depth built up on my garden table and its already at 10 inches;

This was Monday morning on the Downs, the local hills at the back of the house;

Tuesday morning in Abbotts wood;

More in Abbotts Wood;

Last night at work during Tea Break;

This morning walking the dogs, and yes work is still on so I'm about to leave;

Oddly enough the roads are clear and provided the council continue to grit then I am off to Hampshire for saturdays shoot!
I really hope it doesnty get cancelled!
