Apparently Google has its knickers all in a twist over those cunts in the Eu and some shite about cookies. Frankly if they are biscuits then I will eat them, if you are concerned about this then fuck off somewhere else and read something else.

Beaters wives!!!!

Well today I should have posted the pics from the Hampshire shoot including the bag and also some interesting pics from the beating line.
Sadly due to being a numpty I have deleted the pics from the camera so you will have to put up with a video clip until I can work out what I have done!
I will be at a bowling tournament with the kids tomorrow so no wandering around with a gun!

Wright feeder attachment

Its arrived, long overdue a badger and deer proof (allegedly) feeder nozzle for our little shoot. 10 delivered, thats half the feeders so within a week or so they'll be replaced and we wont be spilling grain again allover the deck.

Made from pressed steel!

Park wood again

Our little merry band stepped out into glorious sunshine albeit with a freezing wind. Sausage breakfast with coffee and a good start with 32 shots fired by four guns on the first drive.

Spartacus enjoying the second drive, this time of year the woods are stunning to see and we are priviliged to be able to spend a few hours in good company in pursuit of game.

Below is the results of the first 3 drives, nothing fantastic but already a lot better than last year.

A couple more drives after coffee produced a few more birds but we didnt see the woodcock this week. The birds flew well and were where we actually thought they might be! Things are definetly looking up and the Beaters and guns seemed very happy!

Squaddies eh?

Typical Kiwi as well!

I had an interesting evening last night at the IWM for the monthly HBSA lecture, it started with 3 pints of Fireside in the 3 stags and ended with a G&T on the train home!

The published lecture didnt happen sadly due to illness but members stood in and gave a 15 minute effort each, some of the subjects for discussion were ver4y interesting and I have a couple of bad photos below. I wont be identifying them just yet as they are subject to an online quiz on arsse!

Now I owned one of these and sold it years after the ban to fund a stalking rifle!

This is an odd one, if you can identify it I'll be impressed, if not I'll post the other side.

This isnt what it seems either, I was intrigued by the tag on the trigger guard and I must get around to asking!

This last one was very interesting and much to the lecturers surprise but not ours a member in the audience had one!

He also gave some great reloading data in the Q&A session, the member not the lecturer!

And now for something different;

November is about half way through

I had to make the journey to Hampshbire to Rogers Shoot on my own, well I had 5 dogs with me but no human company!

It was a suprising day as it was mild and overcast yet the first drive revealed a big cock pheasant shot by Greg with the first shot of the day and his lovely black lab made hius first ever retrieve. We were impressed. Not a massive bag at 21 birds but getting better, as I speak 2 hens are hanging in the garage for next week and we had some good looking birds lined up;

Part of the line up and although I didnt hang around at the end for a drink I would like to congratulate Roger 2 for his exceptionally well behaved dogs.

Now for another week of soulless commutiung up to London.

A little humour!

Where's Wally?

Today I have been mainly running around Mayfair and St James's in an attempt to secure a slab of 28 bore carts for this weekend. Thats enough clues;
If that didnt help, perhaps this will?

Ok all of this was running around to ensure I had enough for the weekend! Enough of what? Enough of these:

Whilst I while away unproductively the clients hours;

Yes I did own a Samara but it certainly held together better than this one!

Remembrance Sunday

Well its only once a year and at least here we celebrate it properly.

The RBL and associations marched pretty well considering their age,
Well after walking the dogs Benn and I collected the latest feed for the pheasants, another 1/3 of a ton, so thats 1 ton in all so far, lets see how long this lasts.

Today I have mainly been getting wet whilst beating

Its our first day at last at our little local shoot, no loaders or peg numbers for us I'm afraid, just 5 friends with their madcap families to do the beating and lots of walking round our little wood. I decided that my two boys could share my gun and I would beat, no problem until we saw four woodcock and Alex who missed one last year was in the wrong spot this time!
Here's Tony with the first bird of the day and one of my spaniels, Tony brought his GSPs who worked like loons.

Happy smiling Chris despite the weather, we actually thought that we would only have the one bird this time being true to form but we managed to get 5 birds. Mainly down to better shooting this year but we still need more practise. I have signed up with a clay club and will be dragging a couple of syndicate members along!
Not a massive bag by any means but on par with some shoots I have been on and for 3 hours traipsing around wet woods not bad really.

More work than I can shake a sh1tty stick at

So I thought I'd put another Aussie beer advert up;

Although today I will be selling poppies outside of ASBOs I will be shooting tomorrow and doing the whole remembrance thing on Sunday before going to work in someones office again!

With the season in full swing

I get the awful news (awful if you hate what comes next) that I have won a commission to work in London for 6-8 months starting on Monday. This is good news as it is another source of regular income and bad news as it means I wont be walking the dogs, taking clients stalking or feeding the pheasants during the working week. All of which reminds me that I need to buy another 1/3 of a ton of grain for the greedy birds.
Still its an eventful weekend ahead, first day on our own little shoot, Remembrance Sunday and apparently the cousins over the pond may have elected someone who claims to be black!
Seems more Eau de Nil to me (as they say in 1980's smoke grenade training classes).
At least I'll be able to attend more HBSA meetings and I will now have to find some weekend stalking.

The feed bins are empty

I am stuck up in london for the week on a training course and site visits. Our first day is this coming saturday and the sunday is remembrance sunday so no chance tro catch up and feed the birds.

A real pity that evrything is happening this week as I have so much work to do and so little time to even moan about it!

Ah well all will be clearer on saturday. See you all there!

P.S. I'll be posting a list of rifles and shotguns that I need to sell soon, stay in touch.

In the meantime here is a picture of Macey, one of Sassy's daughters with her kennel mate Amber;

Down to Hampshire again

Down to 3 dogs again as well, injuries apart we did thoroughly enjoy ourselves, very fresh wind from the North East and the birds sat tight in the cover. We put over 100 birds over the guns, unfortunately we didnt seem to have the guns in the same place as where the birds decided to go;

The day was made more comfortable by being ferried around in the farm defender;

Damn pikey fly tippers were about again though:

I did manage to acquire an interesting box of ammo though:
